Galaxy S24 clears safety certification ahead of launch

 


 Samsung is expected to unveil its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24, in January next year. Ahead of the launch, most of the features of the devices in the lineup have been revealed through several reports and rumors. Leading up to the launch, the Galaxy S24 is passing through several necessary certifications.


Galaxy S24 Ultra specifications

The Galaxy S24 Ultra's first set of images was leaked last week. It is rumored to feature a titanium frame, a flat screen, flat sides, and an S Pen. The phone reportedly uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor, 12GB/16GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage, stereo speakers, and an IP68 rating. It is expected to have a 12MP selfie camera, a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

The device is expected to be Samsung's first AI phone, featuring on-device AI and Generative AI processing capabilities. Some of its AI-powered features have already been announced, including real-time language transliteration during voice calls and text-to-image generation. It is expected to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery that is compatible with 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Galaxy S24 Ultra clears safety certification in South Korea

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has cleared the safety certification through the Korea Testing & Research Institute. The Korean version of the smartphone, carrying model number SM-S928N, cleared the certification on November 20. Every device that is to be sold in South Korea needs to pass the KC mark, and the Korea Testing & Research Institute offers that certification. The device tested was manufactured by Samsung Electronics' Gumi plant in Gyeongbuk and the Thai Nguyen plant in Vietnam.

Last month, the Galaxy S24 Ultra's S Pen, featuring model number EJ-PS928, cleared the National Radio Research Institute certification. The phone also passed the Anatel certification on the 24th of October. Anatel is a Brazilian certification agency for smartphones and other mobile devices.
